Tools

Five interactive tools, all free and all running on the same canonical data as the rest of the site. The calculators show mechanics — they take your assumptions and apply the current rules; they do not forecast, and they are not advice.

  • Filter

    ETF screener

Filter all 66 ETFs available to NZ investors by expense ratio, distribution yield, asset class, issuer, PIE vs FIF wrapper, distribution frequency and listing exchange. Deep-links, so a filtered view can be shared.

  • Calculator

    After-tax return calculator

Runs the same holding through all three NZ tax treatments — PIE at your PIR, FIF under the Fair Dividend Rate method, and FIF under Comparative Value — so the wrapper difference is visible in dollars rather than described.

  • Projection

    Monte Carlo projection

An illustrative spread of after-tax outcomes across 1,000 simulated paths, under your own return and volatility assumptions. The width of the band is the output — it is a picture of uncertainty, not a forecast.

  • Calendar

    Distribution calendar

A rolling twelve-month view of when NZ and US funds pay, built from verified per-payment history rather than estimated dates.

  • Matrix

    Platform availability matrix

Which NZ platform lists which fund — the constraint that usually decides the question before fees do.

The tax rules these tools apply are documented at/tax/, and the data behind them atmethodology. Building on top of the data instead? Everything is on theopen-data shelf and MCP server.
